For more information on the ABC Series, visit the unofficial ABC website.
Asia Theological Assocation (ATA) recently published The Asia Bible Commentary Series (ABC; General Editors: Dr. Bruce J. Nicholls and Dr. Sang-Bok David Kim) in partnership with OMF Literature.
Biblical Seminary of the Philippines (BSOP) president, Dr. Joseph Shao, was recently appointed as the new General Secretary of the ATA and he has written Ezra-Nehemiah, one of nine volumes of the ABC, along with his wife, Dr. Rosa Shao.
I was at the United Evangelical Church of the Philippines (UECP) yesterday when they were promoting ABC and the upcoming 50th anniversary of BSOP.
“In a day when there is a neglect not only of the Old Testament in our teaching, preaching, and study of the Scripture, but of genuine exposition of the Bible in all its power and authority, Dr. Shao’s commentary on Ezra-Nehemiah will go a long way to fulfilling both of these vacuums among the body of Christ.”
–Walter Kaiser, Jr., President Emeritus, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary

“I applaud and appreciate this new commentary on the Song of Songs and commend it to everyone who is interested in understanding a difficult but crucially important book of the OT.”
–Tremper Longman III, Professor, Westmont College, Santa Barbara, USA“The authors accuately explain the text, and relevantly apply it to contemporary Asian cultures and religions. The sections of ‘Lesson for Life’ and ‘Lessons for Missionaries and Witnesses’ indicate the authors’ passion for living and proclaiming the truth and love of the gospel. I commend this commentary to pastors, teachers, and missionaries.”

Hi, Ms. Keren.
I would like to ask for permission to use the photo above for our school paper. We’re gonna have an article about outstanding alumni of our school, Hope Christian High School, and Dr. Joseph Shao is one of them. Unfortunately, we don’t have photos of him and the photo above is the only decent one I can find in the Internet. Can you please email me the full resolution of the photo? Thank you very much and God bless! Our school paper would appreciate your help.

hello keren!
It is comforting for me, personally, to know that a “somebody” from the Filipino-Chinese Christians in the Philippines has come up with a commentary that caters to the Asian audience. I commend Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Shao for embarking on this endeavor and for the people who supported them. Their commentary and Dr. Shao’s appointment as ATA’s General Secretary has made BSOP’s name known not only in the Filipino-Chinese Christian churches, but to the rest of the world as well. May BSOP continue to train more local students to follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ – for the glory of God! Amen.
